Germany takes on Australia in a friendly in Mönchengladbach three days after they beat Kazakhstan in their recent European Championship Qualifier.

Germany was sloppy in the second half. Bastian Schweinsteiger was guilty of giving the ball away quite often while the defence did not look very assured. Bayern München captain Philipp Lahm has also left the squad for Bavaria. Surprisingly, the tired Bastian Schweinsteiger has been kept in the squad. Tim Cahill has been ruled out and will not travel to Germany.
